Clockwise When the camshaft is viewed from the front of the engine, the camshaft rotates in the following direction. Instal l Too ling (A) o n the nose of th e cran kshaft.
Align p in (2) with h ole (X) in oi l pump co ver (10 ). Ensure th at the oil pu mp cover is concentric to idler gear assembly (11). Ins tall a ne w jo int to p lat e (5 ). Guide th e linkag e for the fu el inject ion pum p into po sition so th at the link i s free to move inside the aperture on the cylinder block for the fuel injection pump.
Align front housing (6) to the dowels in plate (5). Install front housing (6) to plate (5).
Instal l fasten ers (3) and tig hten to a t orqu e of 10 N m (89 lb in). Remov e Tool ing (A ) fro m the n ose of the cr anksh aft.
Instal l a new O-rin g seal (7) to fr ont hou sing (6 ). Positio n cover (8 ) on fro nt housing (6) and install nuts (4) a nd bolts (9).
Tigh ten nut s (4) to a to rque o f 50 N m (37 lb ft). If the engine is eq uipped with a turbocharg er, connect the hose to connection (1).
