I have a fairly large collection of IH Farmall Planter Plates and various related parts, and need help identifying them. First of all, I have pictures of the particular items I need help identifying and figuring out what it does and what it goes on. Secondly, I typed up a spreadsheet of my planter plates and numbers and colors; and I'd like some help identifying what type seed they are used for. I have both IH and Lustran brand plates.and 1 other brand (but only a couple of those). I reckon I'd have to figure out how to post the spreadsheet though.maybe as a photo.

I'm not sure. If you guys out there that have more knowledge with these plates would kindly help me out, I'd certainly appreciate it.

The ones with the center cross are not IH. Could be early Deere or Allis Chamers but I really don't know anything about them but see them on ebay frequently. The 3447AB spacers are used with the 3559 sorghum plates. Many plates are thinner so only one seed can drop in the hole. The spacer make up the difference. I have a 3447AA, AB and an ABX which are all slightly different but it is not always easy to spot!

There are a few other plates that require this spacer, but that is all in the catalog. The 3559 fits all Richmond and Combination style hoppers made since 1927. Same with your Lustran plates.

I have never found a list of Lustran plate numbers and cross references. I only collect the cast iron plates but have a few plastic plates to plant specific seeds.

IH made at least a couple of different horse drawn plates that were smaller in diameter, plus Duplex hopper, POAX hopper and Single Seed hopper plates that all were unique to those systems. You can see some of my collection here. Hello I have six steel plates like your number one picture and number 4 picture, but unable to find out what brand of planter they are for. They are not for any JD planter including the old horse drawn planter they had one bar across the middle. I am trying to find out if any old IH horse drawn planters took this kind or not.In the late 40,s thru the late 70's they took the same as your plastic ones behind the one in your number one picture or steel one like in your number two picture. The lincoln ag products has only plastic and no cross over anymore that I can find, they at one time had a cross over for steel to plastic.

Hope this helps, like I said I am researching the ones I have also. They may be for an early Case planter but not sure. Not able to find any infor on that brand so far. Thanks hwycomm80. AL Farmall Boy wrote:Thanks Raymond!! Everyone, Here is the spreadsheet I was talking about.

Feel free to download and give me your thoughts and ideas on the missing information in it. I have everything sorted, in this order, by 1) Plate/Part Number, 2) Material (Cast Iron or Plastic), and 3) Make. Again all, thanks for your help and input, and I look forward to recieving some replies and new information.

In the meantime, I will be giving that manual a look through. Can't open it. It downloads as a corrupted.pdf file and not an xls or other spreadsheet file.
