Stevewf answered 2 years ago On my '03 Passat Wagon, I did not see a manual release cable. I suppose the cable is more easily seen in the sedan. Or maybe it doesn't exist in my model. I inspected fuse #14, and it appeared intact; however, when I put the fuse back into its socket, the fuel lid opener did work, so it looks like the fuse had become badly seated (oops, I had not checked any of the other items that depend on fuse #14 to verify). The lid opener is not listed in the fuse guide; nor does the owner's manual mention which fuse it depends on. 2015 kawasaki vulcan 500 owners manual. That made this thread a huge time saver for me.
